Mary’s Meals Hong Kong is run by a small team of dedicated, un-paid volunteers.

 

There is so much more to be done to raise awareness and to raise funds in Hong Kong. Can you help us?

 

Parish Champion

We know from the other national affiliates of Mary’s Meals International that spreading knowledge about the work of Mary’s Meals is best done at a grassroots level.

 

We want to assign each of the 51 Catholic Parishes in Hong Kong to a Mary’s Meals Parish Champion. 

 

Would you like to volunteer for one of these vital roles?

 

Duties include (in your parish):

  • Make the Parish Priest and local church community aware of Mary’s Meals
  • Promote the multi-million copy best-selling book about Mary’s Meals “The Shed…” (available in English and Traditional Chinese)
  • Organise Mary’s Meals movie screenings (Hunger to Hope, Child 31, etc.)
  • Organise local volunteer groups to fund raise (create WhatsApp groups, organise coffee mornings, etc.)
  • Be creative!

Schools Champion

Fill a Mug; Feed a Child

 

In 2025, we piloted a fund-raising collaboration with two international schools in Hong Kong.

 

After introducing their students to the work of Mary’s Meals through a school assembly talk and later with videos shown in the classroom, each school invited each of their students to gather spare change from their homes in a mug and bring the funds to school.

 

This campaign – known as “Fill a Mug; Feed a Child” – was a huge success.

 

The students were inspired to help their less fortunate counter-parts and were tireless in their efforts to raise money.

 

We need to bring this programme to more schools in Hong Kong.
